El Museo is honored to present the works of Gilberto Guzmán from September 23rd-October 30th which will coincide with two more exhibits of Guzmán’s works at @editiononegallery and @cityofsantafe Community Gallery.
These exhibits are in conjunction with the exhibition of Gilberto Guzmán's "Multicultural" mural replica which is housed inside New Mexico Museum of Art - Vladem Contemporary.
Gilberto Guzmán came to Santa Fe from East LA in 1971. He paints his people, ancestry, music, the light and sounds and story.
His public murals may be seen throughout New Mexico, including at the New Mexico Capital Rotunda and the Baatan Memorial Building, and previously on the exterior of the old New Mexico State Archives building on Guadalupe Street.
This marks Guzmán's third exhibit at el Museo, in addition to "Gilberto Guzmán—Uncommon Artistic Outpourings of a Common Man" (2006) and a 2018 retrospective after he was named a Santa Fe Living Treasure.
The exhibit will be open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 1 to 5, and Saturdays and Sundays 12 to 5.
