“An evangelical family’s faith is tested in out playwright Carol Carpenter’s rich, insightful, and devastating drama about a hot-tempered dad who put his 15-year-old gay son in a coma… miraculously renders each character as multifaceted and unexpectedly sympathetic.” -Brandon Voss, The Advocate Magazine
“Carol Carpenter has written a moving and relevant story that illustrates the love and forgiveness that are possible when people can agree on what’s important. Our somnolent Tyler is a unifying force, drawing the best out of those who have gathered to discuss his future, if he has one.” -nytheaternow.com
“Carol Carpenter creates believable characters in her play about a hate crime committed by a father against his own son.” -Theatre Is Easy
“Plays about small town communities dealing with such themes this way are rare, and barely this good” -Manhattan With A Twist
A Southwestern matriarch is enraged by the news that her gay grandson has been the victim of a hate crime committed by his own father. As the boy battles for his life, the family must come together and decide who among them is best to care for this child and what place they can find for him in their world.
