Nosotros has been drawing music lovers to their distinctive Latin groove for over 30
years.
What began as a guitar trio in 1994, quickly took on a life of its own, becoming
something that no one could have predicted, including one of the most recognizable
and original Latin bands in the Southwest United States.
The band’s remarkable evolution over the years - taking on new members and
leadership along the way - has resulted in the 10-piece Latin music powerhouse it is
today.
The group seamlessly combines a myriad of Latin rhythms with elements of rock,
salsa, jazz and cumbia creating an innovative and imaginative Latin sound that is,
unique, undefinable and unmistakably Nosotros.
Nosotros has been invited to perform on bills with some of the biggest acts in music and
has appeared at the legendary San Jose Jazz and Telluride Jazz Festivals. NPR's venerable
Alt-Latino program has twice featured the band.
Along with a plethora New Mexico Music
Awards, they were awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from the organization in 2022,
the first time ever given to a group. They have also twice been named winners in the
prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Contest.
2024 saw the release of two Nosotros songs and videos, the topical, timely, funky and
fun, “Mentiras”, featuring Las Cafeteras' Daniel French and “#esperanza”, a salsa
influenced and inspirational song about hanging on to hope even it the darkest of times.
Both tracks produced by 3 time GRAMMY winner Raul Pacheco of Ozomatli.
Nosotros continues to astound audiences to this day, wherever they perform. They have
become festival favorites and have shared stages with the likes of Etta James, Gypsy
Kings, Los Lobos, The Wailers, Roy Hargrove, Los Lonely Boys, Joan Osborne,
Ozomatli, Las Cafeteras, Flor de Toloache, Grupo Fantasma, Victor Wooten, Dave
Mason, Making Movies and many more.
And, importantly, their new music continues to
be relevant, reflecting our ever-changing world. It also continues to be vibrant, fun and,
yes, undefinable. Undeniably “felt in the pit our souls”.
