It's official this year Make Music Day Santa Fe will be taking over The Railyard!
Make Music Day Santa Fe will return this year with a diverse and wonderful mix of free interactive musical activities, vendors, and much more, on Wednesday, June 21 2023 1pm-8pm.
MAKE MUSIC Santa Fe is part of MAKE MUSIC DAY, a global music celebration that takes place on the summer solstice each year and brings people of all ages and skill levels together to make music. This year, over 120 U.S. cities across the country will host thousands of musical performances and activities as part of the world’s largest annual music event.
While local performers are encouraged to play on the patios of the surrounding Railyard establishments, a fantastic variety of musical lessons and activities will be happening at the Railyard Plaza!
These activities include Group Folk Jam with Jono Manson, Crash Romeo karaoke, West African drum music with Akeem Ayanniyi, Circle Singing with Joseph Ewatuya, Group Harmonica Lesson with Phil Harmon (free harmonicas for first 100 people), Songwriting Workshop with Lucy Barna, Ukulele Strum-along with Queen Bee Music Association, The Candyman Strings & Things' Instrument Petting Zoo , vendors and much more!
Restaurants, businesses, galleries, and other institutions in the Santa Fe Railyard District are encouraged to visit www.makemusicday.org/santafe to register their indoor or outdoor spaces as performance locations. Registration closes on June 14th.
All musicians: beginners, professionals, young and old, are invited to take part by signing up to play these spaces at www.makemusicday.org/santafe; registration closes on June 14th.
All events will be included on the official MAKE MUSIC Santa Fe Calendar listing and be part of the global celebration of music making.
