The final presentation in Aspen Santa Fe Ballet’s winter season is the exhilarating contemporary Brazilian dance company, Grupo Corpo (“Body Group”).

Founded in 1975 by Paulo and Rodrigo Pederneiras, Grupo Corpo is renowned for its unparalleled blend of popular Brazilian culture, African rhythms, and classical technique.

Experience the iconic music of Brazil with Gil Refazendo, inspired by Gilberto Gil, the Bahian composer, performer, and activist called “the godfather of Brazilian music.”

Closing the evening is Gira, evoking rituals from the uniquely Brazilian faith, Umbanda.

Choreographer Rodrigo Pederneiras creates a profound and compelling statement about humanity’s relationship to the divine or the supernatural.
