Santa Fe's own David Berkeley returns to La Reina to play a sneak hometown release show for his new album, A Pail Full of Fire. Produced by Todd Sickafoose (Hadestown, Ani DiFranco, Andrew Bird) and featuring Anna Tivel singing with him, this record is a masterclass on songwriting and tasteful arrangements. Berkeley has been called a “musical poet,” by the San Francisco Chronicle, “a double fantasy of Nick Drake and Donovan,” by Rollingstone.com, and praised by New York Times for his “lustrous, melancholy voice." Berkeley’s gift as a songwriter is in finding light through darkness, the hope in hardship. His gift as a performer is in weaving hilarious stories in between his beautiful and cathartic songs. He was a guest on This American Life, and he’s won many songwriting awards and honors including ASCAPs Johnny Mercer Songwriting Award. Berkeley has released six studio albums, one live album, and authored two books which pair with two of his records.
